We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Executive Chef who:
Develops menus and prepares food for the department cafeteria facilities and for various catered events. Supervises the department’s cooking staff. Prepares food, develops recipes and menus, and specifies food products and supervising presentation to insure high quality. Monitors and evaluates the performance of activities in order to ensure quality of work. Participates in the decision to hire new personnel regarding work assignments, overtime scheduling, etc. Applies substantial knowledge and experience to perform a wide range of advanced activities and/or determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals; serves as working supervisor for team or work group.
Supervises employee activities throughout to ensure proper procedures are being followed. Assists in the evaluation of the work performance of employees.Participates and provides creative input in the development and implementation of menus and recipes. Ensures that menus and portion control are followed. Uses knowledge of the nutrient content and preservation of the nutritional value of food. Cooks for special and therapeutic diets. Standardizes recipes.Works closely with vendors to communicate purchasing needs. Orders food and supplies needed for food production area of the department.Ensures that supplies and equipment are used and maintained in a safe, cost-effective manner in accordance with established standards and policies.Actively participates in the hiring, promotion, and termination of employees, including the application of the interdisciplinary action process when applicable. Completes performance evaluations of supervised personnel.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You’ll be successful with the following qualifications:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Associate’s / Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Five years relevant experience: Preferred
Registered Dietician certification: Preferred
ServSafe certification or equivalent: Preferred
Valid Driver’s License: Preferred
