There’s so much going on here. There’s never a dull moment.

Honoring Cancer Survivors

We recently honored our cancer survivors and their successes at our Annual Cancer Survivor Day luncheon! Messages of strength, courage and hope echoed throughout the celebration as our guest speaker, Patricia Varga, author of the book Create to Heal, who is also a survivor of endometrial carcinoma, shared the powerful meaning of healing through the creation of art, poems, and meditation.

Each year during the celebration, we present the Flame of Hope award to a community supporter and this year we were able to acknowledge two prominent champions for the cause. We’d like to offer warm congratulations to Anita Aghajanian, president-elect of The Guild at Adventist Health Glendale, and Ann Marie Smith, Cancer Services art facilitator, who have both lovingly and selflessly given their time and support to our patients.

Our survivor luncheon ended with a beautiful rose ceremony, during which each survivor was given a rose. A big thank you to everyone who made this day so special, including Trinity Rose, who sang during the event.
