“Clothe yourselves with compassion.”

Reaching deeper to provide a higher level of care.

It’s official! In keeping with our commitment to offering exceptional, comprehensive care, Adventist Health Glendale has its very own inpatient palliative care team. We’d like you to meet the members of the team (pictured from left to right): Alice Zulli, chaplain; Cristy Alagao-Quon, director, inpatient palliative care; Jonathan Nasseri, MD, medical director; Viktoriya Stepanyan, RN, Katherine Castillo, social worker, Elias Molina, chaplain.  Palliative care is not hospice care but a way to improve the quality of life for someone who is being treated for a serious illness.

To palliate means to ease the symptoms of an illness. Active treatment for the illness does not stop (Krames Stay Well, 2017). The exceptional professionals on our team provide physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual support to patients with the advanced or serious illness. By participating and collaborating on goals of care discussion and symptom management, they play a vital role in providing quality, efficient and compassionate care.
